The 2552 helps SABESP keep up with high demand
As a forward thinking company, SABESP is always looking for new ways to improve its processes. Teaming up with George Fischer Signet, the innovative 2552 Metal Magmeter flow sensor was tested at the Presidente Prudente facility located approximately 400 miles west of Sao Paulo. The 2552 performed exceptionally well, providing maintenance-free operation and highly reliable readings.

Compelling reasons to choose insertion magmeters
Measuring flow rates and volumes of water and chemicals in the water, wastewater and chemical treatment industries requires the latest, simple-to-use and cost-effective technology that can keep up with the rigorous demands of the various applications. So what's the optimum choice?

Don’t shackle yourself to the wrong platform
Today, process data are readily available at many levels, from instrumentation to higher-level data historians and OPC servers. Choosing the right platform can be key to successfully implementing robust and maintainable process calculations at your company.

Process Puzzler

A decanter serves a distillation column used to separate water from solvents. Recovered solvents are then burned in a thermal oxidizer (TOX). The decanter separates the heavy organics, such as carbon tetrachloride, from water. The tank diameter is 48 in. and has a volume of 1,000 gallons. During start-up, it is noticed that the minute the pump begins to fill the tank the high level switch, 90° from the tank inlet, trips the pump off. What can be done quickly to eliminate this problem and keep the overflow safeguard?
